While on vacation during the summer of 2011, Joe Meland began writing music under a new moniker: Fate of Uncertainty. He sought to write music that would accurately portray his thoughts and observations of the world around him. He had one idea in mind: Highly atmospheric music that retained forward motion. What began as a week-long project has turned into something far greater.
The project’s first EP, also entitled Fate of Uncertainty, did just that. It combined ambient electronics, lo-fi recordings, and digital distortion to create a sound all its own. Not wanting to stagnate, Joe took the sound he had developed and introduced elements of classical music for his second EP entitled Null Cycles.
Fate of Uncertainty will always represent Joe’s exploration of the human condition through sonic art.
