  • Music (Black Belle Music)

  • If we take the notion of Qafas as a cage into account this track fundamentally acts in the fashion of a savage caged animal, at first raging and ranting against the bars in a mad bid to be free in its first half then in the second half the creature is free and ultimately lost with what to do in that new found freedom, devoid of the pent up anger and filled instead with perplexity and consternation. Moving into this void are some nicely juxtaposed ambient sprawls which arrive to conclude the piece, overthrowing both guitar and drums, and harsh vocals to draw the curtains in a downcast mood, all spartan sounds and windy auras with another segment of dialogue amidst the drift.

  • The Caged Mind (Blood or Love - Review)

  • First comes a nostalgic vision from the past in the first song with the sound of an old movie projector in the opening; it’s a short and deeply wistful classical composition that faintly reminds me of Philip Glass’ style.

  • Shattered Calm: A Split Review (Blood or Love)

  • When you think of “Kafkaesque Retribution,” how would you describe the overwhelming emotion that envelopes you? As being lost in something so utterly filthy, disturbing, yet ironically intoxicating, and as haunting as the albino full moon reflected on a disquietingly calm ocean surface, never belying the diverse oddities that thrive within its waters. Time ceases to exist in the vastness of existence, comparable to the feeling you get when standing alone in a valley that seems to stretch on in all directions encompassing the entirety of the known world.
